Debra is a 25 year industry veteran in the New York Commercial real estate market and has seen numerous cycles. She is a Partner in the national Company Transwestern, the largest privately held full-service real estate company in the U.S. where she focuses on Tenant Representation and consulting.
In 1997, Debra founded TechSpace, the first executive suite company to target new media and Internet clients with creative interiors and state-of-the-art technology infrastructure. Through her innovative vision for TechSpace, she pioneered a unique solution to meet the needs of today’s office tenants. After expanding the Company to Boston, Toronto, San Francisco and Austin, Debra sold TechSpace to a California based related entity that still operates the Company.
In 2010 she co-founded Space530 an innovative collaborative workspace that services the fashion industry. Clients have included prestigious brands such as Alexis Bittar, Max Mara and Zappos to name a few, as well as interesting fashion start up brands such as those created by Matthew McConaughey, LeBron James and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
In 2012, Debra founded WorkHouse NYC. WorkHouse is a natural evolution of the creative shared office space movement. As shared spaces have shrunken down to just a spot at a table, WorkHouse takes another tact by providing self-contained, “serviced pre-built suites” for companies from 6-30 people. WorkHouse currently operates a 60,000 square foot facility in midtown Manhattan with 3 additional sites slated for development over the next months.
Debra has received numerous entrepreneurial awards including early-stage honor roll winner at the Harvard Business School Entrepreneur Awards. She has been a guest lecturer at both the New York University and Columbia Business Schools.
